Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

I am trying to force a geometry to move along a path, like a wheel, using vortex - Kangaroo 0.99. I have managed to make points rotate along an axis, but they don't "walk".

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi Verônica,

Could you internalize the input geometry, so it can be opened without the Rhino file?

Also, perhaps a bit more context to what the aim is here? Is this to create an animation, or simulate some mechanical system?

Hi, Daniel,
Thanks for your attention.
My intention is to create an animation. It is basically to make a nurb curve roll along a path. In this example, I'm using an egg like curve. The idea is to extract the highest point at given instants of time to draw its trajectory.

Thank you very much.

I think that to simulate this sort of non-slip rolling it may be better to work with the NURBS curves directly without using Kangaroo.

You could get a point at the same distance along the 2 curves and move them together, and rotate them so that their tangents at this point match.
