Divide surface equally not working for closed surface (tube)

Hey everyone,

I was following this (ghop forum) thread from a while ago trying to replicate dividing a surface evenly (ish) with one of the supplied definitions. The definition works well with an open surface but has problems when the surface is closed as shown in my file. I know an issue is the last domain of panels gets screwed up, the data for the domain needs to be "wrapped" so that the last row is using the start position (0, 0, 0) as the final domain, however when I try to add this data to the set of domains, the results are wonky.

When I try to reparameterize the surface I get the "1. Subsurface is invalid because the trimming U-domain is singular." warning and the results are also not desirable.

Also, when you change the amount of subdivisions, it seems some values work fine and some create overlapping subdivides/panels.

Any help is much appreciated, attached are my files and a screenshot.
