How to get displacements of the center node of a cell

Hi Everyone.

In the attached I have a wall that is made up of hexagon cells which I have as shell elements. I'm considering that these are solid 4" thick cells under a uniform load and looking for the displacement under this load. I have visualized the vectors of the points of the hex but the centers do not show a translation.

Does anyone know how to get the displacement of the centroid rather than the edge nodes? The purpose is that I want to associate the cell directly to the translation and use it for future refinement, and with the edge conditions- it is hard to make the association to each cell.

Many thanks

Mary

Hi Mary,

when the midpoints of your cells are part of the shell they should show a displacement. Are you sure that you included them?

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens.

I believe so- I culled them into the point input for the mesh to shell component, and then took these points and input them into the assemble model point input. Is there another place they should be included?

Thanks-

Mary
