If you have a polygon representing the water or land, you can get the center point of each mesh face and test it for XY containment on water or land., This could be used to filter out unwanted mesh faces.

Hi Tingran, for the water, you should either exclude the water or assign very high weights to the mesh edges that lie in the water.

For controlling the 4 sliders with one, you do need to decide on the relationship yourself. Just think of it as a list of frames. Perhaps the total frames are 0-600. one slider might move from frames 20-250, while another will move on frames 300-425. you can use domain containment and setup different domains for each point, and you can use remap to convert from the domain of the frames to the domain of the slider.
