The color is from Grasshopper.  I used a gradient slider to assign a color to each mesh vertex based on distance from a point at the center of the large yellow cell.  The mesh vertex colors bake with the object out of Grasshopper, are saved in the VRML file, and are printed on a color 3D printer...in this case a Z Corp ZPrinter 650.

nice work! lokks really kool! how did you manage the color gradient? is it the texture itself or from gh?
