Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello guys,

I am trying to make a dome with a reciprocal modules, with the connection among the struts using cables like in this.

I am tring to model the connection between the struts in grasshopper like in a picture bellow (the long lines are the struts, and the short lines are the cables).

But, as i tried to run the simulation, the connection between the point was changed and there an addition line suddenly appear like this.

Can you figure out what is the problems?

Thank you very much

So are the struts hanging off each other - not touching?

Yes, they have to be hanging off each other instead of touching. So, the result of the simulation I was expecting is that the cable-strut connections going to end up like in the second picture, in equilibrium state.

The problem is, the cables should not be connected on the end points of the struts like in the last picture.

Is it a matter of data manipulation of the points?

Hi Irfane, can you check files you have uploaded, or internalise data? Because curves are not loaded when i open both files.

I saw later first part of def.

I got this with kangaroo 2. I think it is easier and faster.

Thanks Mladen for helping out here - this is great.

Hello Mladen,

Thank you very much. I just tried it using the kangaroo 2 as you suggested, modified it a little bit, and it is worked and the cable-strut connection are just right. Now the overall behavior could be seen.

Now i'm just a little bit curious about the difference between the way kangaroo physics and kangaroo 2  working regarding points and lines data processing..

Many thanks!
