algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello!
I am very new to grasshopper, I have been looking for tutorials and explanations, but couldn’t find even if it’s possible to make the following:
I want to create a 3D shape in rhino (or grasshopper, though for me it’s more difficult) and after that to use grasshopper to turn this shape from solid to pattern, with different densities.
I tried to find something alike, and I experimented with images, though I managed to make only a flat thing. I used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZzj-d68zCI
and made a surface with overlapping circles and various density (in the attachment).
So basically I need to create a pattern (kind of like from an image above) but within a 3D shape, with high density in the bottom centre and density becoming lower further from the bottom centre. The pattern shapes have to have a thickness of 1mm at least and overlap as this is going to be 3D printed afterwards. Would be awesome to base the pattern on some nature ideas, for example dandelion, corals etc, though again: is it possible to link all this references in one file?
Is that doable? Could someone help me out with the algorithm or give some tips/links to tutorials or give skype lessons?
Thank you in advance!
