Culling points with different Z values

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a quick way to cull points that have the same X and Y values but different Z values, preferably keeping the point with the highest Z-value? I've thought of a way with "evaluate curve" but I feel that this will be quite heavy with a larger number of points.

Applied that very same code a few days ago on this forum, to a different set of points, same result - vertical lines:

I've run into a small problem with trying to apply it for two separate lists, is there an obvious solution to this? I can't think why it would work for a single flattened list but not this.
