algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I haven't found it, but maybe it's there: is there a possibility to consider non-linear material behaviour, e.g. plasticity?

Best regards,

Hi Stefan,

in Karamba 1.0.3. the calculation of displacements is linear elastic only. However when doing cross section optimization you can enable plastic design. This means that the plastic cross section resistance is taken into account. For plastic materials like e.g. steel this works on the basis of the theory of plastic limit analysis. Do not apply this option in case of brittle materials like e.g. concrete.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Thanks for the info!

Do you have plans to implement non-linear material models (e.g. for shell elements)?

Regards,
  Stefan

Yes I have plans to include material non-linearity, but it's hard to say when because there are lots of other things that would be interesting too.

Best,

Clemens

Hello Clemens,

Have you made non linear plastic analysis possible in karamaba?

Hello Gohan,

not yet.

Best,

Clemens

Thanks for the hint!

Best,

C.
