algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I have been searching through the internet and the discussion board but I find nothing that can solve my issue.

My question is, how do I create uniform triangulation on the an ellipsoid that I have created?

Im trying to create the Triangulation like Buckminster Fuller's Structure. A Step by Step would be a Great help.

Much Appreciated for your kind support.

Thank you.

If you want something like Fuller's structures, try searching this forum for geodesic domes. There have been many examples posted, and it is quite easy to achieve with Giulio's Weaverbird plugin - by subdividing an icosahedron and projecting the resulting vertices onto a sphere.

To adapt these to an ellipsoid you can scale them along one axis. This does mean you will have less panel repetition than on a sphere though.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for the reply.

Is this the projecting the resulting vertices onto a sphere you talk about?

What do you mean by scaling them along one axis?
