Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm fairly new to gh and very new to kangaroo.

I am trying to use collide mesh to collide a surface, that's had forces applied to it with kangaroo, with a voronoi pattern so that where there are holes in the voronoi the surface continues to drop through but i'm not having much success and can't seem to find a decent explanation of the collide mesh tool.

If anyone could help i'd be very grateful, I have attached my definition to this post

Thank you!

Like this? I changed your kanagaroo to kangaroo2. As long as your voronoi mesh is very thing, you have to use high resolution  mesh cloth. So that particles will not overshoot.

That's what I was aiming for :)

Unfortunately I get an error when running your definition, I've attached a couple of images to show these

Thanks

Hi,

First image is not an error it is just quick and dirty way to get mesh out without any particles, edges. I can modify to get clean tree if you want.

What is the error of the second image? If you move the mouse to top right corner where there is a message flag, you can see what is written. Just copy it here.

What in the end you want to achieve?

I wanted pretty mush what you've showed in your image except I wanted to anchor the points around the ellipse kind of shape as per my original definition.

The first error was 'data conversion failed from line to mesh'

I don't seem to be getting the second error now! :)

Thanks for your help!

Is there anyway to achieve the same result using normal kangaroo not kangaroo2?

Like this?

Yes it is, but with k2 calculaton speed is faster and more stable.

Errors fixed.

Thats it! :) thanks

I could reduce the mesh density if it would then work with kangaroo

Same stuff with k1

The issue with density you must have high density because collision goals are working with particles and your frame is pretty thin, so you have to bear in mind that your cloth particles must not overshoot frame mesh. If it does it gradually goes though.

It can be changed to line line collisions.

But for now I attached k1 and k2 with the same result.
