Calibrated Modelling of Form-Active Hybrid Structures - Smart Geometry 2016 - Cluster Results

Was a fun week :)

Updated Vimeo description:

Developed by Anders Holden Deleuran (CITA) in Rhino/Grasshopper (McNeel/David Rutten) using Kangaroo2 (Daniel Piker), K2Engineering (Cecilie Brandt-Olsen), GraphViz and NetworkX implemented in GHPython (Giulio Piacentino/Steve Baer).

Hello, Your work is fantastic. I'm so interesting in it. Is it possible to share the script or guided me on the logic of this

Just uploaded some video of us messing with the built tower prototype, good times at SG2016: https://vimeo.com/162698829 :D

@Filippos: Just saw your question now. Yup, still using NetworkX. Considering other options though, due to the incompatibility issues with IronPython. Looking at maybe finding a .NET solution which would also play nice with C#/VB. Any ideas :)

Cheers guys!

@Mihai: We disseminated a similar design modelling process for the design of "The Tower" at IASS and DMS last year (using the early versions of Kangaroo2, known as Joey). If you can get your hands on these proceedings it's all explained fairly detailed. There's also a video presentation from DMS. The big news for Smart Geometry is the development and integration of the K2Engineering plugin, which we used for simulating mechanically accurate behaviour after interactively shaping the assembly (so basically, structural analysis on the fly). We'll eventually get around to disseminating all this somehow :)

Unfortunately the Smartgeometry website got hacked and currently does not have a cluster description, but you can read our initial proposal here.

Awesome!!! Would you be happy to share parts of the definition/script with the public? Really keen to simulate similar shapes:
