Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I am trying to place a series of points on a curve and would like those points to be spaced unevenly as you can see on the image.
Possibly i would like to control the spacing with a graph.

I hope someone can help,
Many thanks,

Arthur

Hi Dirk
I have a question in similar manner .
If I want generate points on curve in sequential two distances like 5,10,5,10 how I mast go on.
Sure, have a look at the following setup:

Dirk -

Disregard the last file... pls take a look at this. i have the distance values weaved...need to now divide the curve at these values...

Bruce-

You can do the divisions with two VB scripts. Instead of shattering the curve to find the lengths, you can just subtract each value from the previous value. Then after weaving your two parts together, you can then add another script to add each value to the next value. Both are simple loops if you take a look.

thanks a lot!

It works perfect but I have a further question how would it be working if I have a sequence like 10,5,10.

Also only in-between the elements of 10 a distance of 5.
Rafi, try either merging more inputs or explore with the Weave component - either will work.

:D
Sorry it actually logical!

but how can I now make from those elements of 10 making separated curves?
I tried it by Shatter function but it's not working.
hello gix 3d,

can you please send me a grasshopper file of your reverse list, at my file it doesent work

Hello, I'm kind of new in the art of GS, but I wanted to apply the script that I found here on two identical curves and then try to connect the points vertically. The problem is that when I load both curves to initial curve component, it applies the script for just for one curve. I tried to copy-paste the script, load separately the curves and then merge together the points, but then I can't connect them vertically. Any smart solution?
