algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I am trying to make the box morph below align to a simple XY line in top view rather than perpendicular (so simply straight rather than perpendicular) to the referenced curves. I've tried to deconstruct the breb and assign a different plane with little success. Is there a way to do this while maintaining the other aspects of the morphed geometry?

Like this? (shown your twisted boxes as well for comparison)

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the suggestion! Not exactly, I'd like the box morph to be straight in the top view, not the side view. See how the polysurfaces rotate slightly in top view such that the rectangular edge is perpendicular the the reference curves? I'd like the rectangular edge to simply be align straight to the XY plane. Does that make sense?

Thanks again!

Er ... hmm .. what was the question? he, he

Get this and comment what exactly twisted box  (anything is possible) you want

Maybe this might clear things up. I've added a secondary horizontal line set (see attached). Basically, I want the 4 points of the octohedron that are rectangular to match up with the 4 intersection points of the two sets of lines. The geometry morphs accordingly.

Thanks!

OK, that is very easy ... time for the V2 then

If this is what you want (I feel a bit dizzy: for good reason, he he)... DO NOT put other curves into the 2 curves collection used (def needs some minor tweaks with regard trees/lists/cats and dogs - nothing serious mind) until the V3.

Hi Peter,

Thanks again. This is getting closer to what I would like. Unfortunately, your C# script component is running an error on my end (CS0103 The name "A" does not exist in current context). It looks like "A" is not defined? Great idea on using the breb wireframes/planes though. Looking forward to V3.

what an idiot ... accept my apologies (until V3)

And the V3 (spot the first pair option => test first, then go all the way)

This is perfect! Thank you!
