remove the '.xml'

I just tried and it opens fine in GH 080009.

i'm sorry luis ,but i still have problem.
I try to change the file extension simply delete  .xml and replace it with .ghx, the problem that is always a xml file. perhaps there is another way to change the extension?

Open the file in something like notepad or Text Pad. Set the File type to all files and then save with only the .ghx extension this should sort it.

How are you ending up with an XML in the first place? Is it by being directed to a web page in your browser with the XML when you try to click on the ghx link? If so don't save this from the XML page, go back to the link and right click to get 'Save Link As' this should get around the problem in the first place.

Unless the filename ends with .gh or .ghx, Grasshopper won't attempt to load it. Some download or email clients insist on appending .xml to a file that starts with a valid Xml header (as indeed ghx files do). This is a very annoying habit but once you've downloaded the file you should be able to change the extension back to ghx in Windows Explorer.

If Windows does not allow you to change the extension of the file, it could be that you downloaded it to a folder that has specific read/write restrictions due to login security levels. Try downloading the file to a folder like My Documents.

thanks to all !! finally I did it

Hi

This is a old subject, but maybe somebody look the subject anyway.

I had also problems with xml, to open in grasshopper. ( downloading interestings code from the internet.

My tip is:

That you save the downloaded xml file, in a folder, then if you remane it with extension GHX ( only extension GHX )...extension GH does not work for me) , after you open it in wordpad or similar, you save it as all type of files, and then extension GHX...and it is perfect and easy.

Hello Elisabeth, thanks for replying to this topic.

I have a similar problem which cannot be solved like this.

Please check this link: http://www.designcoding.net/decoder/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/2012...

I tried to download it but it cannot be downloaded and by doing that procedure I cannot manage to open it.

thanks for helping me!

:)
