Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Does anyone has a GH script which can generate the Ansys classical input file? I have specific requirements and it'll be useful if I can get a reference script which can be modified rather than creating one from scratch.

some of the specific requirements-

  1. Object layer name specifies the properties in Ansys. Example - Objects (solids or surfaces) in layer 'Steel_face1-fix_face6_12-frictionless' have steel material properties in Ansys, face 1 is fully fixed and face 6 has a frictionless contact with face 12 of another object.
  2. Directly sending the input file created above from GH to Ansys solver without having to open Ansys and importing the file there.

I was searching grasshopper3d for relevant previous posts and found these (couldn't find any script though)-

Unfortunately I can't help.

I was very interested in enabling interaction between Grasshopper and Ansys but I got zero response from anyone I contacted that sold or developed Ansys.  Any my personal experience with Ansys wasn't sufficient to advance beyond basic model attributes on my own.

Good luck, hopefully someone else has advanced further and is willing to share.

Cheers,

Jon
