algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I don't know what is the issue here. I think that karamba is not considering a concrete element as defined (material weight 25 KN/m3), he is still considering a steel element (material weight 78.5 KN/m3), why is that ?

A concrete element of 1m3 should have a mass of 2500 Kg.

You have not assigned that material to the actual cross section! Karamba provides a default steel material to any cross section not otherwise defined.

Take a panel component and write "ConcretePiece" or something in there. Then connect that to Elems/Ids input on both MatProps and Cross Section component AND into the BeamID input on the LineToBeam component.

However, it is a bit confusing, my understanding is that when assembling the model Karamba will understand that this line is a beam with this cross section and this material ...

Is this applicable to a shell element as well or just a beam ? For example in the attached image shall apply same for the shell cross section ?

I mean I should plug the "35 MPA" panel in the Elem/Ids cross section component so that karamba understand that this shell have a material of 35 MPA ?

You must tell Karamba that a certain geometric element shall have a certain property attached. This is so you can have multiple different elements within one model.

I.e. you might want one group of lines to have a small cross section and one group of lines to have a big cross section.

I'd recommend having a look through the Karamba example files that come with the download and reading the manual. They should provide background needed to ensure your models work.
