Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Ha ha !

Some of the terms used in the error messages make me think of the funny setting names on Tesla Cars like "Ludicrous mode" or "Biohazard mode".

Anyway, I get an error message in this admitedly large definition (1.07 Mb) , even with the solver locked.

I can't make clusters because some intermediate components are part of the "interface zone".

I could also try to optimize the various algorithms, but GH crashes before I can do anything.

My hardware specs aren't too bad : 2012 Macbook pro with 16 GB of RAM.

Cheers,

I should add that my definition was created in 0.9.61.0

The crash probably didn't occur in this version because if it did, the definition could not have been created in the first place.

In fact, the crash is almost instantaneous after opening the definition.

This might be related with the panels... They can't display very long texts.

Ultra-paranoid mode deals with Canvas display errors. It's got nothing in principle to do with the number of components or how many calculations are being performed. All it means is that one object in the file causes an error while it's being drawn to the canvas and that error hasn't been caught by any of the standard error handlers. There is one final 'catch all' handler which managed to stop this error before it crashes Rhino and because it was such a close call it goes into ultra-paranoid mode which should give you a better chance of saving important work before an error comes along nobody can catch.

I'd like to see the file, because the only way this could possibly be resolved is if I can replicate it on my machine.

Also, 'out of memory' exceptions in drawing code almost never mean out of memory, it just means something went wrong and nobody has the slightest idea what it was.

Hi David, I sent you the file.

Does it also crash on your machine ?

Cheers,
