Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Anyone, please enlighten me on how grasshopper might be used to generate snake scale geometry on a given surface. Thank you in advance.

Hi guys,

I think this conversation could use some of the information being discussed here:

Any help there will be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks & Cheers.

Hi Diego

I would LOVE to be able to replicate what you did with the scales on the ANTEL Arena, but your images on your blog are too small to be able to read the components :( Any chance you could upload larger images, or post a definition??? I'd be really grateful, it would help me a lot!

I'm not sure if my blog explanation of the project can help you but here it is, just search for the ANTEL Arena section, hope it works for you:

I'm so new to grasshopper.  I've seen it and have know of it since the beginnings.  I've even tried using it several times.  The stuff you guys do with it, is absolutely astonishing!  I look forward to being able to have it in some of my workflows in the future, or sooner.

Yes Diego, thank you for your image.  Those scales look superb!  I may need a slightly different topology for printing a little more subtle effect for injection molding application.

Sorry David, I'm new to this.  Never really blogged before, and didn't notice where to post.  I miss Rhino's old web forum, but their new one is good too.  I just haven't seen the interface yet on this site.

Please post questions in the forums, not as personal blog posts.

You may also want to provide a link to what exactly "snake scale geometry" is. What sort of surface are you looking to cover? Should the scales overlap or be a tiling pattern?
