algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is there a way to simulate an automobile tire in free fall, in order to analyze the result upon impact with the ground?

not exactly what you want but could get you started ?

I'm checking out the file now, and some possible incompatibility between my 2.02 version and the .09 version, upon loading the file.

Some components might be missing.  Plus I'm really new to the implementation process; or way of getting the Rhino viewport to correspond with the grasshopper/kangaroo components.

..doing research...

This is what I see after opening the file with version 2.02.  From here I'm very lost in figuring out how to see the objects in Rhino's viewport.

download and install kangaroo first.

Ok, I think I've got the 0.099 version initialized, but there's still an peculiar message that pops up.  Please see attached.

this message informs you that you need to dowlnload and install weaverbird

ok, cool :)

will do :)

Okay, I think everything is running smooth now, but I have no idea how to operate this file.

Attachments:

1. double-click the timer so it becomes active (grayed out icon with '20 ms' message).

2. double-click the boolean toggle and switch to 'false' so simulation starts.

3. adjust spring length or mesh pressure to vary form.

p.s.: again, this isn't a tire, it's an inflated torus mesh - and it will not simulate the ACTUAL behavior of an ACTUAL tire, but as mentioned before might get you started with kangaroo/grasshopper.

I did that yesterday.

kangaroo 2 is not directly compatible with kangaroo. it is suggested to keep both version installed, as many mesh etc tools are useful for kangaroo 2 and to have access to your old kangaroo files.

Oh I see. I will test this again first thing tomorrow. Thank you Alex! :)
