Hi to all,

i'm doing some tests with the magnetic snap... and trying to recreate what Daniel did in this video but somehow i can't get similar results. It's almost impossible to attach more than two triangles together and at some points it gets the opposite result... instead of attracting it pushes the volumes away

i've tryed tweaking the settings for the Snap component as well as The Rigid Body Strength but it doesn't bring it any further

Any ideas why is acting like this or how it could be improved ? Thanks a lot

I WILL NEED a touch screen as soon as this feature is running on kangaroo

Yeah would be very interesting for building virtual ledwork networks. There is no ring magnet (that can rotate around it's axis) yet, is there? ;)

Monster!

Thanks all :)

@Andy Yea, I've had a thing for magnetic construction toys for a while. Strange to think that was 4 years ago now.

@Joris - Indeed, this seems like an ideal application

@Mathias - temporarily turning off all snaps lets you easily correct accidental connections. Also, the snaps have an adjustable range of action, and if this is low and you pull points quickly you can break them apart.

Great work! Would it be possible to also split things open or un-snap them?

very interesting! we can use this for virtually assembling our folded sheet 3d shapes :)

That's great.  Looks like the physical models you were building at Smart Geometry in Copenhagen.

Daniel if you keep winning the internet so hard you might actually break it! Also, in Denmark this is what we call snaps (wink wink, nudge nudge):
