Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

Is it possible to do apply a IES2RAD file to a geometry in DIVA for Grasshopper? I've been following this tutorial http://diva4rhino.com/page/simulating-luminaires-with-ies-files but cannot find where I can assign a luminaire in the DIVA for Grasshopper material component?

Many thanks,

Arthur

Hi Guys,

Also when I try the IES2RAD on Rhino i got the error message below:

And this message when running a visualization after that, I tried following all the steps. I hope you can help (I am using DIVA 3.0):

Arghh really sorry I tried the example file too and get this error now. I suppose it is related to doing the IES2RAD steps but then I get the 'Type Mismatch Error'. If I have a rad file already can I not use it directly?

UPDATE: It is working now. I used the IES attached and for the permission I ran weather and material steps again.

One further question:

I imported some ies data into diva for rhino and simulations and everything work fine. Now if i go to grasshopper and try to calculate visualisations via grasshopper - the scene renders fine but without the ies files - in the radiance window there is a line xform: cannot find file "tlr45.rad"  - tlr45 is my lighting fixture

So does anyone know how to get ies files to work in diva grasshopper?

Thank you very much

Cheers Tom

Question solved - Alstan told me the trick. In case anyone needs it:

- just copy the .rad and .dat files of the luminaires into C:\DIVA\Radiance\lib\ and it should work

Thank you very much Alstan for your quick help!

Cheers Tom
