Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

My situation is the following. I have:

  • a list of open curves
  • a point cloud on the xy plane

The curves are opened but all together create some closed areas that I would like to convert to regions, if the points of the cloud are within their boundaries.

It's actually less or more what hatch boundaries does in Rhino.

Any idea?

Thanks guys,

Claudio

Hi Claudio,

Look for Half-Edge Structure in the search box...

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/closed-curve-intersecti...

but I think the latest is non-comercial...

Hi,

Thank you for your quick answer.  Fred, I took a check to the links, but actually I think that they are not suitable for my situation. The reason is that the curves I take from the file are not so clean since those are from a citymap.

So, the goal is build buildings from a 2D map which includes the number of floors each building has. With the definition You find down here I have a list with the number of floor and the point inside the 'area' (which I would like to convert to a region) which has to be extruded.

Here I uploaded the file. If you don't see the ideograms it's because you don't have ideograms installed on your pc - it's normal - and the definition I have done so far works anyway.

Cheers,

Claudio.

Sorry, I forgot to say that you need Horster to see my definition: http://www.food4rhino.com/project/horsterreference?ufh
