Hello C! first off thanks for amazing plug in....

I have a license file and when I load it from C:\Documents and Settings\mynamehere\Application Data\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper {B45A29B1-4343-4035-989E-044E8580D9CF}\0.9.56.0\karamba\License

I still get this error:

1. Could not read public key from 'C:\Documents and Settings\"mynamehere"\Application Data\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper {B45A29B1-4343-4035-989E-044E8580D9CF}\0.9.56.0\karamba\License\public.key'

Im running rhino 5 32 bit w gh 9.0056

I uninstalled Karamba and re installed the latest and greatest version but same result... Tried to troubleshoot it on my own but no luck. sorry to bother you. sure its a simple solution. thanks-e

Hello Ethan, did you check whether the file 'public.key' is present in the directory indicated by karamba? It should have been copied there upon installation. Did you install Karamba with administrator rights?

Best, Clemens

thanks for your quick reply. I did install as an administrator and the public.key is there. I am an MCDC student at the Hochschule OWL in Detmold and look forward to hopefully meeting you someday. Thanks again-ethan

any further advice? I'll try again tonight...

Dear C,

I need some assistance as I'm encountering problems with installation and running of the 1.0.4 Karamba.

I'm running Rhino 5 64bit/ Grasshopper ver 0.9.0069 on Win7.

This is the error line I got from the Rhino Console as I started up Grasshopper.

"Command: Grasshopper

An error occured during GHA assembly loading:
Path: C:\Users\PING LEE\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\karamba.gha
Exception System.IO.FileNotFoundException:
Message: Could not load file or assembly 'KDTreeDLL, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you very much!

for GH ver. 0.9.0069 installation folder should be here:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper (b45a29b1-4343-4035-989e-044e8580d9cf)\0.9.69.0

Hi,

After updating to the latest version of Karamba (1.0.5) i get this error:

1. Solution exception:Unable to find an entry point named 'CSharp_new_NKDTree__SWIG_0' in DLL 'karamba'.

I have tried to uninstall several times and installed different versions without luck. Is this a known error, or can anyone see what i can try to fix it?

I run Win 8 and GH 0.9.0061.

Hope someone has an answer!

Regards,

Esben

Hi Esben,

uninstall Karamba and search for old versions of 'karamba.gha' or 'karamba.dll' and remove them manually. Then reinstall Karamba. Make sure that 'karmba.dll' in 'C:Windows' is not blocked.

Best, Clemens

I allready did that 5 times, but ofcause it works when you tell me to do it again!

Thank you very much Clemens!

Hi guys,

I'm assembling a model to karamba components. I joined all lines (only lines) in a data component. After i removed all duplicated lines, and also did the same with endpoints. After i flattened all this data and assembled it to karamba, but the analyse component return this error:

1. Singular Stiffness-matrix: Can not solve static system.
Make sure that boundary conditions are set so that the structure can not move in rigid body modes.
When you analyze a flat shell structure lock the rotation perpendicular to the plate in at least one node.
Use the 'Eigen Modes'-component and activate the display of local coordinate axes: The first eigenmode will be the rigid body motion.

I tried to figure out what's the problem but i cannot. Anyone can help me with that?

Thanks in advance,

Joao Calheiros

Hi Joao,

try the divide and conquer strategy: decrease the number of elements in the model until it works. Does the 'Eigen Modes'-component come up with a result?

Best,

Clemens

Hello Clemens,

I did that, and it worked, but in that way i don't have all my elements assembled to analyze in karamba. I have about 530 elements, is that too much ? The eigen modes - component doesn't return any result with 530 elements assembled.

Joao

The 'Eigenmodes'-component can be slow because it makes use of one processor only. Thus you have to wait some time.

A good way to start locating the problem would be to find out the number of elements at which the error occurs for the first time.

Best,

Clemens
