I just added an origami example using the hinge force to the examples page of the Kangaroo group:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/kangaroo/page/example-files

It should be possible to just replace the mesh with your own folding pattern, and choose the mountain/valley curves then fold it.

I've been meaning to do a tutorial for a long time - The possibilities are actually much more open now that Kangaroo includes a "Hinge" force. However I am deep in work for my undergraduate thesis right now... maybe after I'm done I'll have time to put together a tutorial. 

The basic idea though is to use very stiff springs for creases and weak (invisible) springs for the fold attractions. And sometimes you need to start the vertices off with a little initial velocity to get them going in the right direction.

I'm new here. I'm wondering if there is a place where the definitions for origami folding using Kangaroo can be found. I'm working on a very specific folding typology and hope to solve some of the mathematical questions I have about the form using Rhino.

Hey this is cool, great to see more people folding with Kangaroo - can you post this on www.curvedfolding.com... would be good to get it on this site for all the folders to see. Greg
