Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This video is a combination of grasshopper (generation of the 3d shape) and processing (drawing shapes and water particles)

The grasshopper geometry is realtime exported into processing; then, particles are generated according to the angular velocity of the vertical turbine.

Thnx Pieter!

To get the geometry exported to processing, each curve is divided in 200 points, and streamed into a .csv file. Then I use Processing to catch them and represent the curves of the tornado.

The 30.000 water particles are realtime generated in processing, using the points of the rotated geometry as origin, and assigning an angular acceleration and velocity for each one.

Then, physical equations and boundary conditions are applied to each particle in order to get a realistic particle flow.

Nice Carlos. Can I ask what program you export to to generate the particles?
