Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Thanks to the an earlier example of the UDP connection definition by Giulio Piacentino I was able to use processing and arduino to read some simple analog input. In this case I was experimenting with a LDR sensor to control the scale of an aperture based on the ambient light in the room. Covering the sensor you notice the scale change though still some lag, I had to set the timer component to 1sec for my small macbook to keep up.

Nice! I agree, wonder if one could apply the same tools to a full scale model.

Maybe Jean Nouvel's IMA louvres would work then :)

I agree with Enrique. Extrapolating this to multisensors would be a great exercise. It would be interesting to explore how far you can take the sensor environment with Arduino to affect the Grasshopper model. Have you considered how to make the physical model of this?

very nice.
U should try a multisensorial mockup of the whole geometry...
