Hi there. I have a problem with some materials.

I edited the material.rad in notepad but I don't understand how I have to write these two material: metal_railings and metal_treads. I used the following definition but in diva for grasshopper in material it just appear dusty_med and not metal_railings and metal_treads. How I should write the correct definition?

void brightfunc dusty_med
4 dirt dirt.cal -s 1
0
1 .25

dusty_med metal metal_railings
0
0
5 .7 .7 .7 .3 .2

dusty_med metal metal_treads
0

5 .5 .5 .5 .3 .2

The minimum illuminance is used for Daylight Autonomy, Continuous Daylight Autonomy and Daylight availability. The UDI illuminance thresholds are pre-set and cannot be changed.

Hello. I want to know about the option minimun illuminance in DIVA 2.0 for grasshopper. For example, if I write 500 for minimun illuminance and then in the output I chose UDI(100-2000 lux) it means that it will going to calculate UDI between 500-2000 lux?

Never mind... Installed the latest GH version and seems to be working now :)

Does anyone get an error message when opening Grasshopper using DIVA 1.9? I just downloaded this version and placed the Assembly file under the components folder as indicated in the tutorials but I have not made it work. Do I have to be using the latest version of Grasshopper? I have 8.0004.

>>Command: Grasshopper

Assembly Resolver initialized

An exception occured during GHA assembly loading:

Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components\DIVA.ForGrasshopper.gha

Exception System.TypeLoadException:   Message: Declaration referenced in a method implementation cannot be a final method.  Type: 'DIVA.ForGrasshopper.C_ComponentAttributes'.  Assembly: 'DIVA.ForGrasshopper, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Thanks for the reply Jeff.  I'll stay on the look out for the updates.  Thanks for this great tool; I'm looking forward to working it into my projects.

Matthew. The installer, tutorials and wiki will be synchronized in a day or two. Sorry for the confusion, we had a couple people pre-beta testing the installer.

Does anyone know how I could download DIVA v1.9 or later as referenced on the wiki?  I am only finding redirects to versions 1.1f or 1.2 beta.  The problem I am having is that when replacing the grasshopper component for the latest available on the wiki, I get a warning that the material library can not be retrieved.  Would this have anything to do with not having installed v1.9 or later?  Also, is there a way to manually direct the material component in grasshopper to the material library text file?  Any ideas?  Thanks

The grasshopper component doesn't change and of the scripts in the rhino toolbar, it just rewrites some of the text files needed for each analysis. I found a bug in the latest grasshopper assembly when I tried to introduce drop down menus, the assembly has been changed back to a working version which is available on the wiki i . First I would try renaming the rhino file (this creates a whole new folder for the generation of the text files), then run a complete analysis with the toolbar (location>nodes>material>metric. Then try the revised grasshopper assebly. If this fails, erase the c:Radiance folder and download the installer (has the revised assembly in it), overwrite the old assembly in the grasshopper components folder. In general, if an error gets generated in the workflow, rerunning the analysis from scratch in rhino then going back to grasshopper should correct it. Let me know if this works for you.

Hm, the problem seems to be in Diva-for-Rhino. It works fine before i started with Diva-for-Grasshopper. Now everytime I try to use Metrics i got this error:

Line: 593

Char:4

Error: Type mischmatch: 'UBound'

Code 0

URL:  file://C:\Radiance\DIVA\resources\scripts\RadExport.html

I found on Diva-for-Rhino forum someone with the same problem and advice was to delete old files from old version of radiance and i did so but it's still the same. Is it possible that Diva-for- Grasshoper make this error ?
