this was an art project that took a stream of tweets with the #paidmydues and converted the tweet into 6 unique values which were numerically remapped into frequencies.1hz = 60rpm so we made some 20,000 rpm dc motors with imbalanced cams spin to generate a unique frequency and this was represented in cymatic puddles. We also displayed an on screen animation of this real time feed which was a way of graphically showing the wave patterns. Mosquito was used to process the tweets, firefly was used to manage lights and motors using both an uno and mega board. We also displayed a lissajous curve to represent each puddle. It is really fun to add in a timer to make those curves move about. In terms of the physical apparatus - Lunchbox was used to make some wave surfaces and kangaroo to formfind the puddles.
