algorithmic modeling for Rhino

200 stacked 2D sections of a 3D metaball structure with moving point charges. Colours assigned based on section elevation. Actual Grasshopper solution is also real-time.

So far curves only. Doing a 3D metaball isosurface in real-time is a bit harder.

What would you use a 3D metaball for? As far as I know the only useful application for 3D blobby objects is fluid simulation and Molecular Reactive Surfacing.

I hope it ends up being an actual mesh and not only section curves. I managed to do a simple marching cubes definition using almost only components (it took ages to generate the mesh though) so it can't be that hard to program a decent one ;)
