Deform a mesh manually from Rhino

Simple script to deform manually (from Rhino) the points of a mesh, using its vertices, edges or faces.

I've done this script in an afternoon (just for play) to change the mesh points manually from Rhino. It is useful to make small modifications of a mesh quickly, really not useful for modeling from a primitive (because does not have functions to subdivide edges or faces, collapse vertex, selection tools, etc.). But I share it because it is very simple and may be useful for…

snake scales

Anyone, please enlighten me on how grasshopper might be used to generate snake scale geometry on a given surface. Thank you in advance.

Sectional Modeler for Laser Cutter

This is a definition (WIP, attached) which creates sections for a laser cutter from opened or closed single geometry.  This won't work on every geometry, but it will work for a lot of them.  It uses offsets and booleans so it may be difficult to predict.

I'm also playing with a way to minimize material area for cutting (with galapagos).  If anyone can offer help to improve it, let me know!

Update:

- Some issues with outside…

Normal Flipping in Grasshopper

Hi Folks,

I've been having some problems with a valid closed polysurface that has all surface normals oriented correctly in Rhino (used the Direction command). However, when I work with it in Grasshopper, it appears that half of the surfaces are now flipped (normals now pointing to the inside of the polysurface). I've tried to use a guide surface, I tried offsetting points along the normal to test for inclusion and then flip. I've even tried to flip normals manually by mutliplying… Continue
