Linear City planning is a bad idea

Architects and urban designers keep falling in love with linear cities. This is a misguided desire for an interesting sublime form, rather than a well designed practical city.
It's cool to see a sublime straight line from space as it ignores all natural features making a god like architectural graffiti on to the planet. It might look cool, but it's as ignorant as a…

10 BASIC PARAMETERS IN HOME DESIGN

Architecture is not a style of particular buildings, nor is it the drawing of building plans; it is a process of problem solving mixed with aesthetics that results in information (drawings) used for construction. For a home or…

What is Parametric Design in Architecture

I wrote a short post on my thoughts on what Parametric Design is within Architecture. With so many designers calling their blob or crumbled form "parametric" with no use of parametric methods, I argue that Parametric Design is not a style, it is a process. At least for now.

Generative Pattern Using Firfly, Audio Frequency Spectrum El Yamal

I am glad that I was able to adapt @Toni Österlund your definition and create something I wanted with it.

Design emerges from traditional folklore songs "El-Yamal" that fishermen sang before diving to fish and collect pearls, and when making fishing nets in the Arabian Gulf. Imagine these circle warp the entire facade of a building by the sea and is generated from their songs at the sea,…

Cordyceps

So I've been working on a more haptic way of designing, as I felt a necessity to be in more dynamic control of my final designs. Surprisingly, I felt like communicating with my design when I created the Cordyceps. Maybe some of you find this helpful/useful.

So basically, the Cordyceps is a physical module with 4 knobs and 1 slider. The knobs give an output between 1…
