Hello all, I have a group of circles, randomly placed in x,y,and z. My idea is to have the uppermost circles trim the ones below it so I end up with something resembling the attached image. I also…Continue

zig zag lines on surface
9 Replies

Hi all, I need to create straight zig zag lines across a surface as shown. I need to be able to adjust the spacing and rotate the angle of the lines relative to the surface in the xy plane. I've…Continue

Srfsplit for polysurfaces?

Hello,  does anyone have a method of splitting polysurfaces with a curve other than the SrfSplit.S component? It doesn't seem to like the polysurface I have to slice up.ThxContinue

Varying radius with Voronoi component
6 Replies

Hi all, I have a set of voronoi and I'd like to set several different radii using the same component. The component puts the 2 radii on the same point when I actually want them applied randomly to…Continue

"Thanks Manuel, this is exactly what I was hoping to do. Thanks also for explaining the process. It allows me to try a few new ideas now using this as a starting point. cheers"

"Hi, To trim the circles you need to move it to the same plane (i think that is why you get one circle with the vb.net component).   I decompose the center points and compare z coordinates, then I move all the circles that have larger z…"

"Hi David, the script works with the included circle component but when I hook it up to my random circle generator I get this error.. Do you think there's a way to do it in Grasshopper based on the z height? thanks. "

Intersecting Objects

Hello all, I have a group of circles, randomly placed in x,y,and z. My idea is to have the uppermost circles trim the ones below it so I end up with something resembling the attached image. I also need the resulting shapes to be closed cells. My last attempt was to create surfaces using the circles and split them with the same circles. This of curse gives me all the split fragments - not the effect I'm after. Thanks for any ideas..…See More
