Wishlist - Number-slider which auto-adapts to the length of some data input

So I could i.e. use the slider to scroll through a "cull" component and see which element is which.A second input for the "branch number" could come handy as well.BestThorstenSee More

Octopus

Octopus is seen as an extension to Galapagos by introducing multiple fitness values to the optimization. The best trade-offs between those objectives are searched, producing a set of possible optimum solutions that ideally reach from one extreme trade-off to the other uniformly. Results are shown in a two- to five-dimensional, 3D-navigable solution-viewport. User-preferences on specific solutions can be specified when the optimization is paused, so the further optimization gets densfied around…See More

Coffee + Grasshopper

A daily geometric problem is presented to the grasshopper 3d community. Degrees of difficulty vary by day.The idea is to sharpen skills, challenge, or a fun exercise: Useful for beginners wanting to learn, or as an alternative to your morning coffee + cross-word puzzle. Rules:Contributions can be posted by anyone. Either selected from a previously posted problem from the general discussion (please acknowledge original poster), a selection from one of the many grasshopper+ primers (please…See More

Grasshopper error messages (missing chunks or so) dissapear when opening it, need to kill the process

When opening a grasshopperdefinition I sometimes get error messages about missing chunks/plug-ins or so, which I have to klick away.Unfortunately these message windows dissappear (behind other windows on my screen because I was switching inbetween them) and I can't get them to the front again, so I have to kill them and teh related Rhino instance by using the taskmanager. It would be nice if these messages could be enabled to get to the front again (they seem not to be a seperate task) or…See More

"I am interested in this too.Very nice project. But did you use some evolutionary solver like Galapagos with Karamba to find the most efficient number of girder divisions and it's dimensions, in accordance to particular load?"

HI !   Last time we were having a meal together at a scripting workshop in Paris!  Time flies.  I am now 10 months in the new company an this gives me sometimes the chance to explore and develop software tools mainly with Grasshopper.   By the way, I am looking for literature and an algorithm to generate panels  (srfs or meshes) in a 3D network of lines. Any hint ?  -- Are you still at B&G ?    Viele Grüße !

Hi, I'm Sangsu Lee.

Thank you for inviting me as a friend.

Our Strauto FEM optimization system currently is for in-house use only.

It lacks documentation or tutorials. We provide optimization and engineering consulting service to customers.

I absolutely agree with you that computational optimization for structures need parallel computing.

So we developed our distributed parallel solvers system.

It drastically reduces the computation time needed for heuristic optimization.
