"Hi Tash, here are a couple of definitions. One is a planar resembling the pattern found on sunflowers, and the other one is cylindrical like the pattern found on pineapples and palm trees. It's old work, and very disorganized... you'll…"

phyllotaxis tutorial

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a good phyllotaxis tutorial? I am trying to create a simple, 2d/flat phyllotaxis pattern in GH bound by a set out radius. I have found only one tutorial so far. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!See More

"I'm sorry what I gave you is not going to work, because the data structure is different.  Plus, the image you posted is misleading because it seems to have depth, when in fact everything is flattened around a cone.  Try and continue…"

"If that's one piece, then maybe you don't need average.   Otherwise maybe you need some sort of a weighted average. Not sure how to do that.   Other than that you can fake a point in with the point component until you get it…"

"Great! thanks! Just one more question though, if I may - the average component throws it off-center slightly - do you know if there is anything else I could use? Many thanks for your help!"

"You will probably have to use the average component because if you don't it will move each object by it's own centroid. See attached."

Paul Hecko replied to Tash Tash's discussion move help required
"You should connect the geo straight to the move without the area. If your vector is correct, it should move. Remember to turn off the preview of the original geometry if you don't want to see it. Use the area component just to get the centroid…"
