It works beautifully! You cannot use it to wrap multiple geometries or you end with something similar to the below image. But if you boolean union with any connection to make a single geometry, it works great.

Very nice image. I am working out a similar idea but am having trouble with the weaverbird components. Would you mind posting your definition?

did not use kangaroo for this

just took closest points from geometry to bounding box

then build a mesh from it

and smoothed it with weaverbirds laplacian and catmull-clark several times

and for the rendering - its done with vray and 3dsmax

then little bit photoshop

anyway, what a nice but weird render - would be funny to know the approx. setup.
