The code is in the ZIP file I posted earlier. It is some flavor of C, which I don't do, so I'm not sure where to look for the functional stuff.  It's been out there for a number of years though, and as I recall what the author did was take the compiled machine code that calculates the Mandelbrot equation and put it right inline with the display code. So if this is true it could be difficult to decipher.

My i7 CPU calculates the whole set almost instantaneously. Quite a contrast from years ago when one generation took half a miniute.
