The Tower

In 2016 we took part in the open call for the festival O’Gorod again. There was a new condition in the competition task: the objects should have been removable and after the official event they were destined to be relocated from the festival area to its permanent place.
We designed the tower for the art cluster Pochaina. The site is located in the very city center, close to the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. Every face of the pyramidal tower is formed by four alternately overlapping surfaces. Every surface has one straight and one sinusoidal generatrice. The form of the tower is inspired by the architecture of old wooden Russian churches. But the tower looks completely different inside. The facing’s form turns into a mandala-like ornament. Inner space directs the visitor’s eye straight up to the sky.
The construction consists of three main parts: the base, the frame and the facing. The facing comprises foldable modules. These modules are assembled with door hinges. They can be transported in a flate state and installed being folded. In September 2016 the tower was partially disassembled under our guidance, painted red and relocated to its new place.

Sometimes people find it very difficult to cope with any loss, be it a job, a relationship, a loved one, or even some important thing. In fact, there are now different ways to cope with this pain of loss. You can contact a psychologist, but there is also such an option as nebula review. Personally, an experienced psychic often helped me look at what happened from a different perspective.
