The concept of RIVER WEST ITUS was derived from a visceral site response wherein a specic experience on site was taken into account and became the point of departure. This notion led to the justaposition between movement and disability, which as a result came across between human movement and osteoporosis; a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue or deminiralisation of the bone. Two essential characteristics were particularly observed and incorporated into the design; 1. the layering eect that the medical condition leaves on the bone and 2. the structural aesthetic that it leaves upon.
