algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone

I'm having trouble with axis names in Octopus viewport.

I have 3 objectives (mass, max displacement, max number of bars connecting in one node), but when I enter the text legend (as objectives) they are shifted so the axis labelled mass corresponds to the displacement... etc.

Any Idea to fix this ? I can't find out where it comes from

The dotted wire-connection to your linked container named 'OBJECTIFS' indicates a path structure. This likely causes the shifts, as the order of the values probably is jiggled by this.

Make sure you flatten the containers before plugging them into the 'merge' component, such that your lists ofvalues and the list of textual descriptions always are in the corresponding order.

Regarding your previous inquiry on grouping etc:

I'm afraid there's only the option to set a maximum value for each goal dimension in the overview of objectives (in the lower part of the octopus viewport, where you also set which objective to show on which axis).

For more advanced filtering, you can export the solutions to grasshopper (you could use octopus.E solutions to store them for easier manipulation) and process them there.

Thanks for answering ! You were right the merge component was shifting the values and gave strange outputs.

I didn't thought about using Octous.E to select groups of solutions but that's a good idea, I should get what I want.

Though, I would be really interested in being able to select (and delete) several solutions of Octopus in order to simplify the front, make the set of solutions easier to manipulate, and decrease the quantity of memory used for the computation.
