generative modeling for Rhino
This is supposed to deform the circle but I get two models and no bending....weird? Anyone know have any idea why?
The reason is, that the node where the load acts is not part of an element. Turn on 'Element tags' and 'Node tags' in the ModelView-component and you will see, that node 0 (with the load) lies in the middle of element 4.
So in order for it to work, the node where the load acts has to be part of a beam element. I have the node where the load acts positioned along the beam so why is it not a part of the beam element? The nodes 1-5 are supports and then node zero is a load along the beams elements 1-4.
Sorry. I have tried looking thru the manual so I didn't have to ask you but don't see a good explanation of elements and nodes.
The beam elements are created from the lines you feed into the LineToBeam-component. If you position a point on a line you have to split the line to make two lines out of it which can be converted to two elements. These two lines have the new point in common and thus integrate the point into the model. Karamba discards points that are not connected to elements.
Sorry for the delay. Got sick then had finals week. Okay it is almost doing what I want when I split the line to make two beams it treats the two beams as separate and I was going for one line that deforms with the force vector as I move it to different positions along the beam. This is what you meant right?
Yes, but I think you have an error in the path structure of your definition: the Assemble-component produces two models. Flatten some paths to reduce it to one (see attachment).
Got it! Thanks!
