Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All, I have a problem with a surface I'm designing (see screenshot attached). Since the surface height changes, the height subdivisions (V coordinate) of the diamonds make the diamonds irregular.

I want the diamonds to be as similar as possible in size.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi Juan,

I see that you are keeping a constant number of diamonds from top to bottom (four and a half).

Your surface changes in height, so either the size or number of diamonds have to change too, and relaxation cannot change this!

If you aren't concerned about the pattern noding out, just generate it on a constant height surface and trim off the parts you don't need. If you are, then perhaps some form of stepping like this, where you lose a row:

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your reply! I thought about that option, It's not bad but it's complicated for my design because top and bottom "rails" are not parallel... Also because of this, diagonal lines are actually arcs, which makes it complicated for construction (this is a long (200mts) façade).
