algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I was wondering if the function, Line-Line collision, is implemented in Kangaroo2 as a component or not.

I wanted to do some collision testing with the ability to use the new Drag component.

There is already a RigidBody and 2dCollision, but I want the model to be as simple as possible with just lines/curves.

The old kanagroo had this component :

Hi Calcen,

Not yet - but this is something I plan to add soonish.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the reply. I'll be eagerly waiting for Kangaroo2's next update.

Hi guys:

I am currently trying to take advantage of Kangaroo 0.9's line-to-line interaction capabilities in 2 dimensions. Could someone point me in the right direction for getting started? I am simulating self-organization of crowds for a large-scale project, and this capability is necessary for what I would like to achieve. Right now I'm hacking it by dividing the curves and attaching circles onto them and then utilizing the SpringFromLine force for collision behavior. Surely there is a better way... Daniel's video that you posted demonstrates this, but I am at a loss as far as accomplishing something much simpler... any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

William
