generative modeling for Rhino
Permalink Reply by Luis Fraguada on October 9, 2011 at 5:55pm Check out the example files OSC section. There is not an exact example for TouchOSC, but you should get the gist of it. Essentially the UDP Receiver and Sender can do OSC, you just need to change the sending or receiving pattern input (the #) to 999. Then you can use an OSC channel or OSC Dispatch to store and channel the values. On the touch OSC side you need to configure the network.
Try it out and let me know what issues you are finding.

Permalink Reply by Drew Scherer on December 22, 2011 at 2:23pm I'm new to gHowl and have the TouchOSC configured on my phone. I am able to receive live data from the phone on a networked PC through PureData, but cannot connect to the gHowl OSC_XY example. It seems there is something fundamental I am missing. Any suggestions?

When dealing with these protocols, my first questions would be to know a bit more about your network setup. You say you can receive data from the phone to a machine running PD. Are both devices connected via WiFi? Seems your network setup is ok.
The next thing is to see which ports are configured in the Grasshopper Definition, and how TouchOSC is configured. If you could provide some screenshots from your GH def and some information on the configuration in TouchOSC I can try to help.
Best,
Luis

Port(outgoing) 8000
Port(incoming) 9000
The host IP is correct and matches the local IP value in gHowl.
