test.gh

Your first example there is 2 sectioned spine components.  The other one produces a better result.  Refer attached.

For the second file, you are using the "Surface" component, if you use Extruded area solid you will get the caps.

test2.gh

I think it's better to put the questions into a discussion thread.

Hello Jon,

Your example works. My model works now also but doesn't give any result. It takes a long time (relatively) to export and to get results (probably related to the numbers of elements to export, calculation itself is very fast in Robot).

I posted my model to the link given in your message.

Can you test if this example is working?

http://geometrygym.blogspot.com/2011/03/galapagas-and-gsa-solver.html

Can you post your model to http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/geometrygym/forum/topics/autodes... (a good idea to collate the discussion there) or let me know if it's one of my examples?

Hi,

I found the problem : i did'nt feed the N input of  ggQueryNodeDisp with correct data : N must be a ggNode output. But I get no results from ggS !

Comment by Michel Cassagnes on February 4, 2013 at 10:42am

Hi everybody,

I try to use the ggRobotSolver to get the results directly within Grasshopper. The ggQueryNodeDisp gives a runtime error (see image).

Did someone already use this feature ?

Jon, could you explain how to proceed or send an example ?

Thanks!

How to apply a lineload ?
I suppose one should use ggCUDL.

But when i export to Robot the load vector is zero.

What to do?
