Stretching Mesh

For a tower project I am working on, I would like to deform mesh to create string supports much like in this project:

Which components do you think I should lead/start off with? Any sample definitions I could take a look at? I already have the base mesh. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

It's an impressive result. We might need some guidance from Chao Wei exactly how he achieved that, as there seems to be some waver in the strings which I don't expect to have resulted from a straight application of the force density relax component.

I don't know if the attached model helps you start to understand the process or not, if You reset lines you can see different effects (but you have to be careful with relationship to get a boolean union to a closed piece).
