Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am working on a grid shell and the glass panels have an ID. The parameter in Revit is called "Panel ID" and it is a number. In Rhino, the panel IDs are the object names. I was using Chameleon, which worked, but is limited and throws an error. I use GeometryGym for beams and was hoping to use it for the panels, too. Once I solve how to get the Rhino object name into a custom Revit parameter, I'll switch.

Anybody do this with GeometryGym and can point me in the right direction?

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the post.  Are you using the new ggRvt components?  These are much more specific to Revit export, and should be much easier to use.

I've attached an example script.  It's likely you will need to update the plugins from http://www.geometrygym.com/downloads  Specifically at this moment in time,

http://geometrygym.wikidot.com/local--files/downloads/ggRhinoIFC%20...

http://geometrygym.wikidot.com/local--files/downloads/ggRevitIFC201...

http://geometrygym.wikidot.com/local--files/downloads/ggRevitIFC201...

Let me know if this helps or not.  The importer won't create parameters for you, but it will set the value if it exists on the instance category.

Cheers,

Jon

Sorry, I think the attachments got stripped as the rhino file was bigger than 5MB.  They are attached to this reply.

Thanks, Jon! (Sorry I didn't write back sooner!)

Awesome response time as always!
