Hi Maciek, i have also a problem open those file in Archicad 14.

In AC 15 I haven't tried. This days i have a problem lunching AC15 (of topic; maybe you know what it can be), but when I will solve the problem i will let you know about compatibility of *.IFC  files from Geometry gym with AC 15.

As far as Archicad itself is concerned, ask me questions in private messages. We'll be able to write in Polish then.

 

Anyway, I would be glad to see Archicad opening IFC files correctly.

Typically to date, most software has used IFC for coordination.  Pretty much the only shape representations used are extrusions (profile on linear path) and then planar face connected sets (think of it as a mesh, although it can have many edges).

 

I've implemented many of the the additional shape representations in interest to see which IFC associated software can open them, the unfortunate answer is not many.

 

I will note that it's possible that some might be problems in my IFC generation, but I will gladly quickly "correct" any issues raised to my attention.  Some files on the blog were generated some time ago, and I have made improvements to the code, so I suggest rebaking the IFC file from grasshopper, or letting me know which ones and I will update them.

 

I will also note with Archicad, the architects used IFC to import and render the project below in v14.  But we couldn't open the files in this version, and actually had to import in v13 and then update the Archicad file.  http://www.grasshopper3d.com/photo/albums/ballito-lifestyle-centre

If you are importing IFC models into Archicad 15, make sure you have applied this hotfix: ArchiCAD 15 Hotfix-2 Build 3602 as it effects improvements to the AC IFC engine for importing.
