We get a problem with the Boolean input in Insolation Calculation component that changes from make calculus in grid or objects. We set it to calculate over grid but in the next run it always changes internally (the boolean value didn't changes) to object...We test in the classroom with diferent machines and always get the same error.

Always runing last Rhino + grasshopper and Ecotect 2010.

Best Regards.

P.D.: If you need the files I could send it to you ;)

Hello everyone , i am a beginner and i am using Rhino5(64bit) . I encountered with a problem while setting up Geco-Grasshopper .The problem is the installation program shutting down and showing no massage of successful installed massages . When i open the grasshopper and find nothing changed .

Please help me....I at a loss of words.

I  have been playing around with Geco and really love it! Amazing tool . . . However, I am having trouble calculating incident solar radiation on my model while taking into consideration the immediate context (without calculating the entire context with my model at the same time - which is time consuming).

Is it possible to have ecotect run the insolation calculations on one object  - while calculating the "shadows" cast by surrounding objects - and using the GECO functions?

Thank you so much!

fail to import mesh to ecotect ,waiting for help

Hi Veaturn,

This is a problem with your account on windows. You are using letters which are not supported.

So the only thing you can do is to change your account to a user account without non iso letters and no psaces inbetween.

We will try to avoid theat in future releases

Hi

Is there a way to import a volumetric 3dgrid from ecotect to grasshopper, convert those voxels into meshes and finally keep only the voxel cubes that correspond to the highest value of the solar analysis?

Hi Yiannis,

yes it is possible with the lua component and some custom written scripts

so you need 3 variabels based on the position of the voxel in its 3Darray (i,j,k)

position:

x, y, z

1:get.grid3d.postion i j k;

value, state:

1:get.grid3d.cell i, j, k, [index]);

index: Each 3D grid cell has up to 3 different slots for storing values.

state could be:

1 Visible and selected

0 Visible but not selected

-99 Disabled

-100 Hidden

-100 Hidden and selected

Thanks a lot!

Hi [uto]!

First of all regards for your plug-in, wich is literally fantastic...

Unfortunately i have a small problem regarding it! ...from Grasshopper i would like to run a script made in LUA language on the Ecotect enviroment but when i insert the LUA's "run.app" cmd, made with VB as a string, the Geco's "lua communication" command says: solution exception: input string was not in a correct format>>.

I hope you can help me as i tried really everything!!!

Ops: i forgot to say that i tried to run the same command on the script tool in Ecotect (2011) an it worked...
