Recommendations for sensors/ideas to use in Architecture school

Hi there, I'm going to teach a class in an Architecture school . I'd like to introduce sensible architecture to my students and I thought that using Firefly could be the best tool to use since most of my students don't know much about programming in Arduino IDE. I'm going to start teaching them few simple examples that will mainly focus on readings coming from photoresistors . I would like them to use other sensors besides photocells, however, most sensors require a library, how do I import a library into my grasshopper definition? Also, any suggestions/ideas for architecture models would be greatly appreciated )
